Huntingburg man arrested after allegedly writing $37,000 in bad checks
A Huntingburg man was arrested for check fraud for allegedly writing about $37,000 worth of bad checks from a business account he established through Old National Bank.

According to authorities, in January they received a complaint from the Huntingburg IGA regarding multiple bad checks cashed on a business account belonging to ARC Angle Welding LLC. The account was established by Marc Schroy, 42, but he only put the initial minimum amount, $100, in the account.
He allegedly began writing checks and the account was closed for insufficient funds.
Police said they determined Schroy had passed 32 fraudulent checks totaling $13,257 at the Huntingburg IGA. Police also found that Schroy continued to cash fraudulent checks at various locations in Indiana and Ohio totaling more than $24,000.
Indiana State Police Detective Brock Werne assisted the Huntingburg detective in the investigation and an arrest warrant for Schroy was issued by the Dubois County Circuit Court for a Level 5 felony count of fraud on financial institute, a Level 6 felony count of check fraud, two Level 6 felony counts of theft and 29 misdemeanor counts of check deception and two misdemeanor counts of theft.
Schroy contacted Indiana State Trooper Connor Giesler Tuesday and turned himself into authorities by arranging a meeting with Huntingburg Detective Tyler Stivers in Huntingburg. He was taken into custody without incident.
According to authorities, the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Huntingburg Police Department or Indiana State Police.

Who in their right mind, would allow a guy to keep writing bad checks at an IGA store for over $13,000? I mean…DUH?
