Huntingburg Council meeting
Appointed John Ruetepolher as the new Power Superintendent and Tony Traylor as the Water Superintendent. (Story here)
Tony Traylor asked the council to approve several locations to deposit silt from the upcoming Huntingburg Lake dredging project. Traylor will now be contacting the landowners to negotiate lease contracts for the land. The land is necessary to allow the silt to dry. It will be tested for heavy metals and if the levels are low enough the silt can be left on the property. The city will be responsible for returning the land back to its previous condition.
The council approved an Incident and Emergency Action Plan for the Huntingburg Lake Dam. The plan is necessary to remain in compliance with DNR and deals with events that would breach the dam and how the water would affect the landowners and nearby roads.
The council approved an amendment to Huntingburg Municipal Code Chapter 50 regarding meter deposits for utility service hookups by the City of Huntingburg Utilities.
