Hemmer new Huntingburg police officer

The Huntingburg Board of Public Works approved hiring 27-year-old Josh Hemmer as the city’s newest police officer this morning.
Hemmer has been the Holland Town Marshal since 2009 and will be submitting his two weeks notice to the town board.
Hemmer, a life-long Holland resident, graduated from Southridge in 2004.
“I really enjoy being out in the public eye and helping people,” Hemmer said about his chosen profession.
Chief Art Parks stated the police department is back up to the eleven mandated officers, bringing the department up to full strength.
Mayor Denny Spinner told the board he met with Hemmer last week and felt he was a great addition to the Huntingburg Police Department based on his great record as Holland Town Marshal.
Hemmer starts March 25 and will attend the academy from April 1 to July 12.

Congratulations Josh you will be a great asset for Huntingburg
