Health Dept reminds public of social distancing steps and mask usage
As of Monday, April 13, at 8 a.m., there is a total of 13 positive COVID-19 tests among Dubois County residents.
The Dubois County Health Department issued a reminder to residents about wearing masks and continuing to practice social distancing.
The department stated that everyone in a community setting and in situations where they are around other people should wear a cloth face covering that covers the nose and mouth. This includes people who work at gas stations, grocery stores and pharmacies, to name just a few.
This recommendation comes from the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) and Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Please continue to be vigilant in social distancing and proper hand hygiene, the health department also said. “We are all valuable to this fight against the control of this virus. Social distancing only works if we all participate. Take care of yourself and your families. It takes us all, including family, friends and neighbors. STAY HOME! #INthistogether”

And the public remind Jasper there are people incarcerated that can’t practice safe distance give them the opportunity to live. They were sentenced to serve time not a death sentence on death row.
Very concerned about Jasper Walmart employees not wearing masks. They sell bandanas. Can’t Walmart at least issue these to employees? It would be better than nothing. This virus spreads like wildfire.
We each need to take responsibility for ourselves to keep ourselves And our neighbors safe. I doubt if there is any business in America that would forbid their employees from wearing a mask. It may be impossible for employers to have masks for each employee but easier for each employee to provide their own. Let us try and be kind to one another and work on this the best we can without judging those we have no control over.
I would like to know how many of the 13 case’s have recovered? It has been over three weeks sense the first case! I’m sure I am NOT the only resident of Dubois County wandering this question.
No, you’re not – there’s one other, as someone else asked this question. If no local covid deaths reported then they have either recovered or are still treating at home or in the hospital – this bug can linger several weeks for some but most usually clears within two-three weeks.
