There is no arguing the fact that COVID-19 has forced us all to shift our daily lives into living a new normal, said the press release. COVID-19 isn’t going away. We all are seeing “social distancing fatigue” and impromptu gatherings as the weather gets nicer.
Dubois County Health Department is asking everyone to just step it up a notch because not only do we have a responsibility to protect ourselves, but we also have a responsibility to protect others. Maintain social distancing. Wear a cloth face covering when out in public. Wash your hands often and cover your cough. Stay home if you are sick and avoid contact with people who are sick.

#BackOnTrack #TogetherWeThrive #InThisTogether

So are the 42 Farbest cases over and above the current 77 Dubois County total? Meaning we now have at least 119 positive cases in the community? (I imagine Farbest will report more cases as they continue to test).
So, where are we with this new total number – 77 – is that with or without the 42 plus another “small number” from Farbest – ? This new 8 is the third or fourth rather “big” number released by the day from the health dept thus far – there was another 8 reported on the 13th, 11 on the 12th, and 5 on the 7th – if you consider 5 as “big” – but no one/employer has come forward to claim multiple positives as theirs or to publicly report them either in advance of or post-health dept numbers, if any/all from a single source (other than the hospital reporting “some employees” early-on).
There has been 77 people test positive for COVID-19 in Dubois County.
This number includes Memorial Hospital employees, Masterbrand employees, Health Department employees, and Farbest Food employees, and anyone else who tested positive.
Matthew Crane commented yesterday we don’t know how many of the 42 positive cases from FB live in this County.
Until that information is released we can only assume all of them live in our County.
Beg your pardon, but there are/were 77 people REPORTED by the health dept as testing positive with the 8 from yesterday – now 85 with 8 more reported here today. Because of how the health department reports these – explained as in/by the person’s county of residence – we do not actually know how many have tested positive that work in/for Dubois County employers, nor how many of the 42 reported by Farbest are included in the 77, now 85. Farbest may well have included positive-tested employees who don’t reside here and therefore aren’t included in/by our health department report, but rather in/by their county of residence. That begs the question, given the large numbers of employees that commute from elsewhere into Dubois County to work, how many of these have tested positive but are not reported/included in these totals by our health dept? Seems it would be better changed/understood or at least be better coordinated/clarified, by category, etc.
