Harold H. Hoing, 93, Ferdinand
Harold H. Hoing, 93, of rural Ferdinand, passed away at 5:20 a.m., on Monday, May 2, 2022, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand.

He was born September 28, 1928, in rural Ferdinand, to Henry and Veronica (Hoge) Hoing.
He married Selma Rose Welp on December 27, 1986, in Huntingburg.
He was a farmer and worked part-time at the Steinkamp Warehouses. Harold was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg and the Celebration Singers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Selma Hoing on November 1, 2006; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Eleanor (Roman) Hassfurther and Ruth (Adolph) Meyer.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, James (Hilda) Hoing of Ferdinand; his companion, Carolyn Winkler of Huntingburg; six stepchildren, Ruth Zabransky of Weimar, Texas, Jane Atwell of Willis, Texas, Rita Howell of Stendal, Mark Fleck of Apple Valley, Minn., Daniel Fleck of Sherman, Ill., and Fr. David Fleck of Huntingburg; three nieces and two nephews; six step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren
Funeral services for Harold Hoing will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Friday, May 6, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with Fr. Biju Thomas officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
A parish rosary prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

My sympathy to Jim/Hilda, Carolyn and his step children. I have many good memories from visits with Harold and Jim from years past. So sorry to hear this.
