The Southern Sirens are the featured act for the annual “Halfway to the Folk Fest” lineup announcement and fundraiser on March 31, 2017.

The show will be held at Ferdinand’s American Legion in the family-friendly back hall. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the Southern Sirens will begin at approximately 7:00 p.m. All times are eastern.

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased in advance online at http://www.ferdinandfolkfestival.com or directly at https://www.itickets.com/events/377964.

The Southern Sirens, an all-female pop/Americana band out of Louisville, Kentucky, performs a diversity of genres giving each of their songs a distinctive sound. The core of Southern Sirens is Emmy Bodner (lead vocals and guitar) and Kelsey Lee (drums, cajon, and backup vocals). Joining the duo in Ferdinand will be Kate Tryee on violin and upright bass. “This powerful trio of women is going to get us geared up for year eight of the Folk Festival. The committee is excited to announce the 2017 lineup and looks forward to sharing it with our community. Ferdinand Folk Festival fans, new and old, will want to be there,” shared Kris Lasher, music and festival committee member. “We hope to foster a listening room environment for both the musicians and our community.”

The eighth annual family-and environmentally-friendly Ferdinand Folk Festival will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, in Ferdinand, Indiana’s beautiful 18th Street Park. A variety of food, art, and environmental education booths, along with workshops and children’s programming, will complement the day’s music. The event will, again, be free of charge to attend and presented by Best Home Furnishings.
