Glenn Maurice Eckert, 90, Indianapolis
Glenn Maurice Eckert, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 10, 2022, at his residence.

Glenn was a member of local #440 and was a Union Journeyman plumber from 1956 to 1997, when he retired.
He was born January 30, 1932 in Birdseye, Indiana to Floyd and Norma Belle Jackson Eckert.
Glenn was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant first class. He was baptized a Christian in a creek that ran through the Eckert farm property in Birdseye, Indiana, when he was a young child and was a member of the Birdseye Christian Church in his youth.
Glenn will always be remembered as an excellent provider for his family.
Glenn’s wife Loretta Jean Bayer Eckert, a native of Siberia, Indiana and the love of his life, passed away June 2, 2011. They were married September 29, 1956 in the Anderson Valley Christian Church Birdseye.
He is survived by his son, David Maurice Eckert; daughter, Rhonda Sue (Cates) (Jamie) Curtis, Jane Eckert of Henderson, KY; grandson, Bryan M. Eckert (Wendy Canoles-Perez); and four beloved great-grandchildren, Aemilia Cali, Mackenzie Ann Eckert, Aiden James, James Patrick Allen Curtis and Joaquin Ortez-Canoles; great-great-grandson Brantley L. Blair.
Glenn’s Solemn Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 6050 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260. Following the Mass, he will be entombed in the mausoleum of Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis.
Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home, 5342 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46219.
Solemn Requiem Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 6050 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 2-7 p.m. at Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home, Indianapolis.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
