Friday: 44 new Covid-19 cases in Dubois County
Friday, the Indiana State Department of Health reported 44 new cases of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) have been found in Dubois County.
These numbers are preliminary numbers and could be adjusted as addresses of those infected are confirmed. Yesterday’s total provided through the state has been reduced to 35 residents.
This brings the total cases in the county up to 1,302 since the pandemic began. According to the Dubois County Health Department, 22 residents have died from the disease.
In the past, the Dubois County Health Department had provided the number of cases that had self-reported they were recovered. According to Dubois County Health Department director Shawn Werner, they have requested the state add the number of recoveries to its dashboard but that has not been done yet.
“We have been getting that information from the Indiana State Department of Health contact tracing surveys,” he explained by email. “This is a cumbersome process that continues to become more difficult as the tracers get further behind and the positive individuals do not answer the survey. Our ability to give you an accurate number has become seemingly impossible.”
Numbers continue to rise precipitously across the state.
The Indiana Department of Health also announced that 2,328 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. The total includes approximately 300 cases whose reporting was delayed due to a technical issue over the past few days.
To date, a total of 143,495 Indiana residents are known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
A total of 3,654 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 22 from the previous day. Another 233 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.

Biggest Distraction in US History……….Stay tuned for the New World Order.
Yeah, 223,000 dead Americans and over 8 million infected is pretty distracting.
While you’re busy not following the data, read what Ben Sasse has to say.
At this rate Governor Holcomb could have a Christmas present for us. A Governor Mandated stay at home order!
Think about it!
Hell Holcomb has mandated a mask order . You can see how much good that did . He screwed up by opening the state too soon . But he will not take the blame . Like Trump says , It is going away .
