Edward J. “Ed” Burress, 59

Edward J. “Ed” Burress, 59, of Huntingburg, passed away at 12:58 a.m., on Monday, February 16, 2015, in the emergency room of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born February 27, 1955 in Jasper, Indiana, to Charles W. and Elsie M. (Bishop) Burress.

Ed loved to go fishing, motorcycling and driving around in his car.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, infant Margaret Burress, Crystal Honaker and Viana Stephens.

He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Debbie (Michael) Schlachter and Lisa Burress, both of Huntingburg; four sons, Eddie Thacker of Huntingburg, Ben McCraney of Jasper, Jim Burress of Birdseye, and Charles Burress of Huntingburg; his companion, Kathy Cole of Huntingburg; one sister, Lela Moore of Huntingburg; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation for Edward Burress will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19th, 2015, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. There will not be a funeral service.  A private burial of his cremains in Mount Zion Wesleyan Church Cemetery, near Loogootee, will be at a later date.
