Dubois man arrested in act of stealing truck

Jasper — Jasper police arrested Brock E. Gill, 23, of Second Street, Dubois, for auto theft after being notified of one in progress at about 7:45 p.m. Friday.

Police received a report of a man with blonde hair wearing a green sweatshirt, blue jeans attempting to steal a truck parked at 3570 Newton Street. A few moments later, officers arrested Gill at 140 E. 32nd Street after observing him in the stolen 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck. According to police, Gill attempted to flee on foot before officers apprehended him.

Gill was charged with auto theft and booked into the Dubois County Security Center.
