Dubois County Primary Election results
Dubois County voters chose the following individuals to represent their parties (Republican and Democratic) in the November Midterm Election.
A “W” denotes the winners for the party candidate if there are multiple candidates vying for the same position. The Primary is for the parties to choose candidates in the upcoming Midterm Election, however, all registered candidates are on the ballot for their respective parties. Therefore, if a voter casts a ballot in the contested races, they can also vote for those party candidates that are unopposed in the Primary.
Three Democratic Party candidates were seeking the nomination to run for U.S. Representative in the 8th District; Ray McCormick received the majority of the votes and will appear in the Midterm in November.
Kevin Crouse and Anthony Quinn were seeking the Republican nomination for the Dubois County Superior Court candidacy. Quinn won with 1,366 votes compared to Crouse’s 912.
In the Republican slot to run for County Council District 2, Ryan Craig knocked out Darren Patterson’s bid with 452 votes compared to Patterson’s 197.
Five individuals were seeking the three Republican slots for Harbison Township Board. Joey Asbell, Bryant E. Kieffner and Mary Lou Zehr will appear on the ballot in November.
Four Patoka Township residents were seeking the three Republican slots. Cynthia Fehribach, James J. Hopf and Roland Terwiske received the majority of the votes.
Finally, Daniel Kreilein was chosen over Adam Auffart for the Democratic nomination for Bainbridge Precinct Committee.
Voter turnout for the Primary was 3,328 of 30,191 registered Dubois County voters (11.02 percent).

Actually it was the source of this comment that first alerted me but started to read the link, anyway, and sure enough got no further than the begining with “…cnbc…” Tells me and most others with any common sense all we need to know of fake, folly and frivolous.
I can find 10 more news sources if you like, but somehow I don’t think you’ll want to see the truth anyway.
Good morning,
What does the (W) mean? Write-in, withdrew or winner? Some races have it included and others don’t even with multiple candidates listed. TY.
We updated the story for clarity.
My hope is that there be some additional thought and effort put into letting the voters know the location of the polling places and even consideration of the location of these polling places. After driving to three different locations, (past locations), I gave up and did not vote. I since been told there was some information in the local news outlets on the locations, but our elected officials, and our county clerk, Amy Kippenbrock need to realize many people no longer have subscriptions to the local paper, and not all our radio stations report the news consistently, and the little signs placed at former polling places look like any other sign placed in a yard.
My opinion there should have been post cards sent to the register voters informing them their polling places has changed. I take my voting as a patriotic duty and polling places should be convenient and the officials on Dubois County Election board should realize that communication on the location of a polling place should be paramount in the process.
While I understand what you’re saying, believe I’ve seen this information several times in various forms/publications, more than once, etc…they can’t bring it to our front doors on a silver platter with a signature required. Maybe they can (do they already?) attach or include it somehow with property tax or utility bills. Everyone just needs to be a bit more pro-active in paying attention and planning ahead…if easier said than done to be sure.
As to the “local paper,” if referring to The Herald…actually think the info was there at least or more than once…the paper isn’t local anymore and has morphed more leftward to a fraction of its former self, plus soon to be delivered by the post office.
I totally agree… I went to my place said go to 2 different places didn’t have the time to do so…everyone is on Facebook or knows someone who could pass the word…have ALWAYS voted did not this time
