Dubois County Health Department reports 12 new Covid-19 cases

Monday, the Dubois County Health Department reported 12 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were diagnosed over the holiday weekend.

That brings the total to 273 positive cases of COVID-19 in Dubois County residents. Of the 273 cases, 244 have reportedly recovered and six residents have died. The department also reported there have been about 3,100 residents tested.

OptumServe Health Services testing site is now open in Dubois County to help expand COVID-19 testing in Indiana.  

The site located at Ruxer’s Golf Course Building, 400 South Clay Street, in Jasper, is open Tuesday thru Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Testing is for anyone who lives OR works in the State of Indiana. Anyone now can be tested, even those who are not showing symptoms, having symptoms, or those who just want to be tested. There is NO charge for testing. However, if you do have private health care insurance, you are asked to bring that to the testing site.  

People can expect to get the results within 48 hours. Optum will send a text or email to the patient if the test is negative. A phone call will be given if there is a positive test results.

Dubois County Health Department will not be involved with the direct operations of OptumServe’s clinics. Dubois County Health Department will receive the positive cases results of Dubois County residents and will continue to work with the ISDH and local officials to ensure that contacts of the patients are identified and monitored.

  1. How many tests have been performed? I see 3,1000? Do you mean 31,000 or 3,100?
