Diane M. Hurst, 69, of St. Anthony, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020, at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville.

Diane was born on October 14, 1950, to Marinus H. and Ardella (Laake) Weyer. She was united in marriage to Pat Hurst on June 19, 1971, in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church.

Diane was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, St. Anthony Church, and its Church Choir. She was also a member of St. Anthony Home Economics Club, St. Anthony Christian Mothers Sodality, and Christ Renews His Parish. Diane enjoyed music, and could often be heard singing. She enjoyed playing bingo, card, and board games with her family and friends. Diane loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were her life. Diane’s most endearing quality was her love and faith in the Lord. Her Catholic faith was the center of her life, and shaped who she was and how she lived every day.

Diane is survived by her husband of 48 years, Pat Hurst, children, Joseph (Lana) Hurst of Princeton, Suzanne Hurst of Evansville, Karen (Sean) Strahl of Boonville, Michael (Kaytlin) Hurst, U.S. Army, and Kristine (Craig) Breitwieser of Velpen. Grandchildren, Katherine “Katie” Hurst, Allyssa Strahl, Emily Strahl, Jennifer Breitweiser, Elijah Hurst, Lucille Hurst, and Joshua Hurst. Three brothers, Dennis (Janice) Weyer, Larry (Mary) Weyer, and Mark (Gayle) Weyer all of Ferdinand.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents. 

Private family graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2020, in Saint Ferdinand Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Benedict.

  1. Rest in Peace my friend. I worked with Diane many years ago at the Dutchman Inn. She was such a sweet person!
