David Anthony Auffart, 18

David Anthony Auffart, 18, of Ferdinand passed away Saturday, November 16,2013, near Bristow, In.

David was born March 30,1995 in Jasper to Daryl and Cathy (Lasher) Auffart.

David was a freshman at Purdue University and a farmer. He was a graduate of Forest Park High School, 2013, where he was an honor roll student, competed on academic teams, and played the Baritone Saxophone in the Rangers 2012 state championship marching band. At Forest Park he was a member of the FFA, Beta Club, National Honor Society & Natural Helpers Group. He was active in Forest Park musicals.

He was an active member of St. Ferdinand Parish, where he was a Youth Group Leader, Eucharistic Minister, and Youth Choir Member. At Purdue he was a member of The Fall Concert Band , & Black & Gold Sound, and a member of the Lifelong Purdue Alumni Association. He enjoyed farming, HALO, nature and being outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather David L. Lasher.

Survivors include his parents, Daryl and Cathy Auffart of Ferdinand; three sisters, Tempa Auffart, his twin sister, Kelley Auffart, and Rylee Auffart all of Ferdinand; his paternal grandparents, Anthony and Jeanette Auffart of Ferdinand, and his maternal grandmother, Barbara Lasher of Tell City.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand.
