Cookies and Painting supports local child abuse advocacy group

The Southwestern Indiana Child Advocacy Center Coalition is hosting a special event, Cookies and Canvas for a Cause, on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 1 to 3 p.m.

The public is invited to the Jasper Arts Center, 951 College Ave., Jasper, for a fun afternoon of cookies and painting. The event is designed to encourage kids and their caregivers to be creative and have an enjoyable time.

The cost is $35 per canvas and local artist Abby Laux will provide step-by-step instruction. All other materials will be included.

During the event, Director Tammy Lampert will briefly talk about the mission of the Southwestern Indiana Child Advocacy Center Coalition. The child advocacy center will accept any donated paintings from that day’s events to display at a site that provides services to child abuse victims.
