Charles Hershel Roll, 85

Charles Hershel Roll, age 85, of Birdseye, Indiana, passed away Friday morning, November 16, 2012 at his home in Birdseye.
He was born June 25, 1927 in Crawford County, Indiana to William and Golda (Woolums) Roll. He married Louise King on November 16, 1950 in Mentor, Indiana. Charles retired as a Technical Sergeant after a career in the United States Airforce. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Charles was a 50 year member of the Bethlehem Masonic Lodge #574 F&AM in Birdseye and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Louise Roll, who died March 19, 2010; one sister, Geraldine Purvis; and one brother, Riley “Pete” Roll.
He is survived by:

- Dixie Abston – Marion, IN
- Trixie Rudy – Gas City, IN
- Edith Roll – Marion, IN
by (12) grandchildren and (13) great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Charles Roll will be held at 1:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at the Birdseye Cemetery in Birdseye. The Jasper V.F.W. Post #673 Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Saturday; and also from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., on Sunday. The Bethlehem Masonic Lodge #574 F&AM will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 p.m., Saturday evening, at the funeral home.
