Brenda A. Hochmeister, 67, of Jasper, passed away at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Brenda was born in Jasper on March 12, 1952, to James and Bernadine (Sermersheim) Schutz. She married Thomas A. Hochmeister on January 5, 1988, in Owensboro, Kentucky.

She was a 1970 graduate of Jasper High School.

Brenda never met a stranger. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her granddaughters.

She enjoyed listening to and watching all sports, including local ball games and NASCAR racing.

She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Hochmeister of Jasper; one daughter, Shanna Schutz of Jasper; two granddaughters, Emma Schutz and Desi Wagner, both of Jasper; three sisters, Barbara (Ronald) Schutz Hopf, Beth Schutz, and Jayme Schutz, all of Jasper; three brothers, Daryl (Bobbie) Schutz of Evansville, Daniel (Julie) Schutz of Jasper, and David Schutz of Jasper; two nieces, three nephews, four great nieces, three great-nephews, and her dog, Missy.

Preceding her in death are her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Brenda A. Hochmeister will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2019, at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Mayo Cemetery in Duff, Indiana.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Monday.

  1. I remember Brenda in high school. She put up with a lot of my high school boorish behavior. Much more mature than I was. Hard to believe all this time has passed. I’ll miss her.
