Biomass hearing date set for Perry County Circuit Court

Perry Circuit Court Judge Lucy Goffinet will preside over the injunction filed by Healthy Dubois County, Inc. on Nov. 21.
Dubois County Circuit Court Judge William Weikert recused himself from the case in August.
The injunction was filed for alleged violations of Indiana’s Open Door Laws in regards to meetings that occurred without the public’s knowledge while the city of Jasper was pursuing a lease agreement with Twisted Oak Corporation. The city has sought to lease the now idle Jasper Power Plant to what is now known as Jasper Clean Energy. The power plant would then be converted to burn 80% natural gas and 20% miscanthus grass to produce energy for the extent of the 20 plus year lease.
The lease has not been signed by either party at this time and representatives of the City of Jasper filed to hasten the hearing earlier in the month.

It is absolutely beyond pathetic that a hearing has to be held on this matter. Jasper as well as the State of Indiana and the nation are in bad need of jobs from the private sector which makes the economy grow.
John Blair and all the environmentalist have no earthly idea what real pollution is.
There was far more air pollution in the 1950's, 1960's, and 1970's from the wood working factories than what there is today. Years ago you had saw dust on your windshield that you had to clean off.
Why does business locate to Tennessee, South Carolina, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, and Texas?
Remember to thank all of your extremely educated environmentalists for all of the jobs that you do not have in the Jasper community and why young people have to leave Jasper and the State of Indiana for a good job.
Confederate South, In the 1980,s. when i worked at the JASPER CORP. There was days we never had exhauste fans, for the spray booths either. But does that make it right now, to say, we still aren/t good enough to have clean air?
