Betty A. Schwenk, 89, of Jasper, passed away at 11:40 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2018, at home.

Betty was born in Jasper on August 9, 1928, to Louis and Clara (Scherle) Kreilein. She married James Schwenk on June 14, 1949, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2001.

Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and their St. Ann’s Sodality, and a member of the Jasper Circle of the Daughters of Isabella.

Betty was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the women of the Jasper Moose, and the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She enjoyed playing golf, playing bridge, and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by four daughters, Cindy Seng (Ken) of Jasper, Cheryl Rohleder of Jasper, Chris Jahn (Romie) of Jasper and  Cathy Schuetter (Dave) of Huntingburg; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one brother, James Kreilein (Betty), Jasper.

Preceding her in death beside her husband was one son-in-law, Keith Rohleder.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Betty A. Schwenk will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper, IN.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. The St. Joseph St. Ann’s Sodality and the Daughters of Isabella will pray the rosary at 3:45 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Kindred Hospice, or to a favorite charity.
