Anna M. Bohnert, 88, Jasper

Anna M. Bohnert, 88, of Jasper, passed away at 4:32 a.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Cathedral Health Care Center in Jasper.

Anna was born in Schnellville on August 10, 1929, to Benjamin and Margaret (Fritz) Rohlman. She married Paul Bohnert on May 10, 1950, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, Indiana. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2001.

Anna retired from Decora in Jasper. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Jasper D of I, and the St. Ann’s Society. She enjoyed embroidery, quilting, playing bingo, and going to the boat with her family and friends.

Surviving are one daughter, Martha (Kerry) Hochgesang of Jasper; one son, Michael (Lynne) Bohnert of Jasper; daughter-in-law, Pam (Greg) Schneider of Jasper; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are one son, Mark Bohnert; one grandson-in-law, Brian Hughes; one sister, Rosina Kraus; and three brothers, Bernard, Maurice, and Franklin Rohlman.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Anna M. Bohnert will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.  The Jasper D of I and the St. Ann’s Society will pray a rosary at 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
