Allan L. “Allie” Gessner, 66, of Jasper, passed away at 11:06 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at home.

Allie was born in Huntingburg on Friday, January 29, 1954, to Oscar J. and Marie L. (Oeding) Gessner. He married Bonita “Bonnie” Eckerle on January 16, 1987.
Allie retired from United Minerals Coal Mine. He was a member of the Jasper Moose. Allie loved hunting and fishing and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Gessner of Jasper; one daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Speicher of Haubstadt; one son, Luke (Stacy) Gessner of Ferdinand; three grandchildren, Allayna and Madalyn Speicher, and Calvin Gessner; five sisters, Carol (Bill) Meyer, Martha (Jerry) Hempfling, and Paula (Tom) Vonderheide, all of Ferdinand; Marlene (Roch) Gehlhausen of Jasper and Clara (Lee Ray) Temple of St. Meinrad; three brothers, Frank (Marie) Gessner of Ferdinand, Mark (Joyce) Gessner of Celestine, and Tony (Donna) Gessner of St. Meinrad; nieces and nephews, including his two godchildren, Stephanie Flowers and Emily Lindauer; and great nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Allan L. “Allie” Gessner will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2020, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, Indiana.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m until the 1:00 p.m. service time at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
