When celebrating Mom, this Mother’s Day, remember to go the distance – Social Distance, the department reminded the community. You can make your mom feel special and stay safe in a number of creative ways. Support and encourage your loved ones who are social distancing and trying their best to follow the guidelines. Call them. Text them often. Plan regular Facetime calls or online chats so that they are able to still feel connected to the people that they love. Ask them how they’re doing and if there is anything they need. Deliver meals, deliver flowers, but keep your distance to keep her safe. Remember persons with underlying medical conditions and over the age of 60 are at high risk. Please continue to be vigilant in frequent hand hygiene, stay home if you are sick, and wear a cloth face covering when in public.

There was a recent Farbest story in the paper, more of generality but nothing too specific beyond upbeat chest-pumping efforts for getting the food out. Maybe the Farbest folks would like to release a statement on their status of operations specific to Covid-19 safety, et al – to include number(s) of employees affected/infected, their C-19 safety/sanitary procedures, etc. – sort of from a transparent, good-neighbor, community-relations aspect. A lot of rumors floating about, esp this last week or so – understanding of the increase in testing.
