Zachary Lee Johnson, 25, Jasper

Zachary Lee Johnson, 25, lost his battle with depression and anxiety, at 4:24 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2019. 

Zac was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on August 17, 1994, to Robert and Michelle (Prechtel) Johnson. 

He was a 2012 graduate of Jasper High School. Zac worked in information technology in Jasper Engines and Transmissions. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. He loved fishing and bowling, and computers, including building them and playing games on them.

He is survived by his parents, Bob and Michelle Johnson of Jasper; two sisters, Erin (Bryan) Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla. and Taylor Johnson of Jasper; maternal grandparents, Mel and Mike Oeding of Velpen and Harold and Virginia Prechtel of Jasper; aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Preceding him in death are his paternal grandparents, Sandy and Dave Conklin. 

A Mass of Christian Burial for Zachary Lee Johnson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family to help with funeral expenses.
