Yvonne I. Dedrick, age 82 of Jasper passed away at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday (December 27, 2011) in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born on January 29, 1929 in Otwell, Indiana to Virgil and Lena (Myers) Shelton. She married James Dedrick January 29, 1949. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2006.

Yvonne retired from WalMart in Jasper where she had worked for over 20 years.

She is a member of Otwell United Methodists Church.

Three daughters

  • Mrs. Greg (Brenda) Highsmith, Jasper, IN
  • Mrs. Jack (Faye) Bussell, Sparta, TN
  • Mrs. Greg (Debbie) Goodness, Jasper, IN

Eight grandchildren, three step – grandchildren , three great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.

  • One sister, Bernita Hoffman, Dayton, OH
  • One step-brother, Darrell Shelton, Evansville, IN

Preceding her in death besides her husband is one brother who died in infancy.

Funeral services for Yvonne Dedrick will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (December 31, 2011) at the Becher – Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper with burial to follow in the Otwell Cemetery. The Rev. Jeff Penney will officiate.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Becher – Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Otwell United Methodists Church or to a favorite charity.
