Youth Triathlon raises $1,000 for Mentors for Youth

Ms. Knies accepted the check, in the amount of $1,000.00 that was presented by Tara Eckman, President of DC Multisport and Kevin Manley, Board Member of DC Multisport and Executive Director of the Dubois County Visitors Center. These funds are used to offer programs for the children and mentors involved in the organization.

Proceeds from the Dubois County Youth Triathlon Presented to Mentors for Youth

The Dubois County Youth Triathlon raised $1,000 for Mentors for Youth.

The Proceeds from the third annual Youth Triathlon were presented to Mentors for Youth Executive Director, Courtney Knies on Thursday, August 13.

DC Multisport has given a total of $68,679.52.00 back to local organizations in our communities.

The funds will go to programs for the children and mentors involved in the organization.

Mentors for Youth is a program offering children a chance to reach his or her highest potential by matching them one-on-one with a caring adult mentor. Benefits to the children include better school performance, better relationships with family and peers, increased self esteem, learning how to make better choices, learning the value of education and work ethic, and learning better life skills.

Dubois County Youth Triathlon sponsors and community partners were thanked, including Randy Norris Mind, Body, Spirit Endowment of the Dubois County Communtiy Foundation, Farbest Food, Dunn & Associates Benefit Administrators Inc., Bookkeeping & More Inc., Tri-County YMCA, Dubois County Bombers, Freedom Bank, German American Bancorp, MasterBrand Cabinets, Matrix Integration, Old National Bank, Patoka Insurance Center, Inc., Tretter Physical Therapy, Uebelhor & Sons, Yes Power Yoga, City of Huntingburg, Adventures Recreation & Gear, Prairie Farms, and Casey’s General Store.

Positive comments about a successful and well-organized event were given to committee members from parents of the local and regional participants. Seventy-three participants competed in the Triathlon and Duathlon events on July 11 at Huntingburg City Park.

Once again, Dunn & Associates Benefit Administrators, Inc. made a road bike giveaway possible by working with a local bike shop, Adventures Recreation & Gear to provide a gift certificate in the amount of $500 to a participant that registered by June 21. The drawing took place during the awards ceremony, following the conclusion of the races.

DC Multisport will be hosting two more events in 2015, the annual Heartland Half Marathon, 5K, Team Challenge & Kids Fun Run, taking place Labor Day Weekend and the Ferdinand Folk Fest Fondo cycling event, on Sept 19-20.

DC Multisport’s mission is to promote Health & Wellness while giving back to our communities. To achieve a more philanthropic role, each event has a benefactor with proceeds going to a charitable cause. Along with the Dubois County Youth Triathlon total proceeds of $2,250.00 from 2013 to 2015 given to Mentors for Youth, DC Multisport has given a total of $68,679.52.00 back to local organizations in our communities.
