Women Empowering Women April event all about fuel and fitness
The Dubois County women’s leadership organization, Women Empowering Women (WEW), will gather Wednesday, April 11, at the St. Joseph Church Parish Center, 1029 Kundek Street in Jasper, to discuss the importance of fuel and fitness.
Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. for networking before the meeting begins at 11:45 a.m. This event is open to all prospective and current WEW members.
WEW welcomes Melanie Buschkoetter and Jane Fritch to discuss the importance of fuel and fitness. The speakers will educate members to take care of their bodies, mind and spirt, even when responsibilities and roles in life interfere. Participants will learn how to consistently make good choices to fuel and keep minds and bodies fit. The intention is to maximize self-care in order to create capacity to support, lead and encourage others.
Additionally, Amanda Drew, Manager at the Community Food Bank, will be available at the session to provide networking opportunities about the organization’s services and education about impact on the community.
Advanced reservations are required for members and guests. Reservations should be made by calling the Jasper Chamber of Commerce at 812-482- 6866 or by emailing chamber@jasperin.org by Friday, April 6. The cost for lunch is $5.00 per person and is payable at the door.
The mission of Women Empowering Women is to inspire women in business to reach their highest potential by instilling confidence, building networks, and promoting community in Dubois County. Membership is open to any woman in business who lives or works in Dubois County.
Melanie Buschkoetter, RDN, CDE, graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics. She is a registered dietitian nutritionist and a certified diabetes educator. Melanie is currently a clinical dietitian at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She is also a certified group fitness instructor and teaches a variety of exercise classes including Bodypump, TRX and Piyo.
Jane Fritch is a Health Educator at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center. Graduated from University of Southern Indiana with a degree in Dental Hygiene and joined the MHHCC team in 2015 as a Health Educator in the Health and Wellness Department. She is also a Fitness Instructor and Yogafit Certified Yoga Instructor.
