Woman LifeFlighted after Huntingburg motorcycle crash
Huntingburg — The Huntingburg Police Department is seeking witnesses of a motorcycle crash that occurred in the Mor-For-Less parking lot Sunday afternoon.
Officers were called to the grocery store at the corner of First and Main streets at about 4:35 p.m. When they arrived, the found a female involved in the motorcycle accident on the ground unresponsive and a male occupant of the motorcycle nearby.
Emergency medical services responded and the woman was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to St. Mary’s Medical Center.
The man told police he was okay and refused medical services.
The motorcycle is red, and had damages to the body, mirrors and lights.
Police did not release any identities of the individuals involved at this time as they are attempting to determine who was operating the motorcycle at the time of the accident. According to police, two men at the scene had alcohol in their systems but it is unclear which may have been operating the motorcycle at the time of the accident.
Officers are investigating the incident as an operating while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Huntingburg Police Department at 812-683-3003 or dispatch at 812-683-4111.
