Woman found deceased in Bluegrass Fish and Wildlife Area

UPDATE: Police reported the female has been positively identified. This is still an active investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.

ORIGINAL: Indiana State Police, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, and Warrick County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating the suspicious death of an unknown woman found near a boat ramp in the Bluegrass Fish and Wildlife area on New Harmony Road near Klippel Road.

A person fishing in the area located the woman at approximately 1:23 p.m. on Sunday. 

Foul play is suspected.

The woman is about 5 feet tall, about 130 pounds, white with dark hair, and is estimated to be in her late teens to early 30s, according to police.

Additionally, police reported that she has a tattoo of a heart with a ribbon covering the lower front part of the heart. The heart is only an outline with no color. The ribbon is also an outline and extends from the heart on both sides. There are no words on or near the tattoo.

An autopsy will be conducted tomorrow morning.
