Woman arrested for auto theft

Huntingburg — Huntingburg police arrested Christina Kamman, 35, of Monroe City, Ind., for auto theft Wednesday at about 3:35 p.m.
According to police, they received a report of a 2003 Ford Explorer missing from 513 S. Chestnut St. Wednesday at about 4:06 a.m.
The victims, Kenneth Ferguson and Michelle Kirk of the same address, reported that Kamman had taken the Ford without permission during the night and had still not returned to the residence. Huntingburg police shared the information with neighboring police agencies for them to be on the look out for the stolen vehicle.
This afternoon, police were called back to the Chestnut St. residence when they received information Kamman would be coming back with the Ford. While police were responding to the residence, they located the stolen vehicle on Chestnut St. near the victims’ residence and conducted a traffic stop in the driveway.
Kamman was arrested for stealing the Ford and booked into the Dubois County Security Center.
The Ford was returned to the owners.
