Wiseman to fill vacant seat on Birdseye Town Council

Kelly Wiseman will fill the seat on the Birdseye Town Council left vacant by the death of her father-in-law Emmett Wiseman.

Emmett had been on the council for the last 20 years until suffering a heart attack Aug. 11. He was hospitalized for complications from the attack until his death on Oct. 15.

Democratic Party Chair Gary Eck made the announcement today after filing with the Dubois County Clerks office.

Kelly, age 42, is a life-long resident of Birdseye, and is the owner of the Birdseye General Store. She and her husband Steve have two sons, Elliott and Jonathan.

Kelly will join fellow Democrats Jerry Allstott and Romie Striegel on the council through 2014.
