William Thomas “Tom” Mitchell, 81

William Thomas “Tom” Mitchell, age 81, of Birdseye passed away at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014, on his property in Birdseye Indiana due to a tractor accident.
Tom was born on March 4, 1933 in Dyersburg, Tenn. to Wilburn and Modean (Pool) Mitchell.
Tom retired as a salesman of heavy truck parts.
He was an Army veteran who served during the Korean War.
He was a member of Birdseye Christian Church in Birdseye, and a member of the American Legion Post 54 in Hobart Indiana.
He enjoyed collecting antique cars and other antiques.
Tom is survived by his two daughters, Debora Mitchell,of Scottdale, Ariz. and Diane Johnson and her husband Wally, of Snowflake, Ariz.; one grandson, Jeff Johnson; one brother, Frank Mitchell and his wife Billie, of Celestine.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Funeral services for Tom Mitchell will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper with burial to follow at a later date at Qualls Cemetery in Perry County Tennessee. The American Legion Post #147 will conduct military rites. Pastor Ron Hickman will officiate.
Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until the 6:00 p.m. service on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
