William R. Berg, 90

William R. Berg, 90, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

William was born in Troy, Indiana on October 30, 1924 to Gilbert and Marie (Grass) Berg. He married Viola Voegerl on September 13, 1947 in St. Anthony Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on December 24, 2011.

William retired from Kimball International after many years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. He enjoyed working outdoors, animals and bird watching, watching westerns, and being with friends and family.

He is survived by five daughters, Mary Dodson and her husband David of Jasper, Barbara Bohne and her husband Jim of St. Anthony, Janet Miller of Jasper, Cindy Strawser and her husband Roger of Jasper, and Debra Cleveland and her husband Charles of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sons, Thomas Berg and his wife Anne of Jasper and Jeff Berg and his wife Ann of Ireland; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosemarie Gramelspacher of Jasper; and two brothers, Jim Berg of Jasper and John Berg and his wife Liz of Columbia, S.C.

Preceding him in death beside his wife was one son; Tim Berg, two daughters; Sandra Berg and Phyliss Berg, one grandson; Andrew Cleveland, one sister; Marjorie Curtain, and an infant brother Joseph Berg.

Funeral services for William R. Berg will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
