William R. Beck, 80, Jasper

William R. Beck, 80, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away surrounded by family at 2:08 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Deaconess Memorial Medical Center in Jasper.

Bill was born in Bangor, Maine, on August 20, 1945, to Roman W. and Charlotte G. (McDonald) Beck.

He married Louise M. Bolte on May 14, 1966, in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand, Indiana.

He served in the United States National Guard and the Forty & Eight. He was a lifelong member and director of Jasper Outdoor Recreation and St. Jospeh Catholic Church.

He retired as a meat cutter for Holiday Foods.  

Bill was an avid card player. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.    

He is survived by his wife, Lou Beck of Jasper; two daughters, Melinda (Mike) Weidenbenner of Ireland and Heidi (Brad) Newland of Dubois; seven grandchildren, Ryker and Holden (Sara) Weidenbenner, Cody (Madolyn) Newland, Reece, Kelci, and Gabe Newland.  

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leonard Beck and Dennis Beck; and one grandson who died in infancy, Zane Weidenbenner.

Private services will be held at a later date.
