William (Jerry) McCord, 82

William (Jerry) McCord, age 82 of Alfordsville, Indiana, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, (September 11, 2013), in the Timbers of Jasper.

He was born in Reeve Township, Indiana on April 13, 1931 to Paul and Mary (McCain) McCord. He married LaVerne Kraft on June 24, 1953 in Jasper.

Jerry was a WWII Veteran serving in Korea. He was a retired farmer and also did logging and construction work.

He is a member of the Alfordsville Methodist Church and was a Volunteer Fireman and member of the Civil Defense Unit. He enjoyed riding horses and boating.

He is survived by his wife, LaVerne McCord; two daughters, Paula McCord and Sandra Harder and companion Jeff Scott, all of Jasper; one grandson, Jay Harder and wife Beth; and one great grandson Andrew.

Preceding him in death is one son Jay Allen McCord who died in infancy also one sister Ruth Trainer and one brother Robert McCord.

Funeral services for Jerry McCord will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2013 in the Alfordsville Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Alfordsville Cemetery.. The Rev. Steve Remmel will officiate.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday (September 15, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at church.
