William Fredrick “Bill” Lohman, 80, passed away at 4:20 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015, at The Waters of Huntingburg in Huntingburg.

He was born December 18, 1934 in Huntingburg, Indiana to Martin Henry and Helen Minerva (Kunz) Lohman. He married Linda Gayle Flamion on September 10, 1960 in Huntingburg.

Mr. Lohman served in the Army from 1955-1958, spending 28 months in Africa. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Huntingburg Excavating Company, and retired from Old Ben Coal Company. Bill was a member of the VFW Post #2366 and UMWA Local #4343. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening as well as being a fan of NASCAR, IU basketball and Indianapolis Colts football.

Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Marilyn Hasler and Doris Katterhenry; by one nephew.

He is survived by his wife, Linda “Gayle” Lohman of Huntingburg; two daughters, Jacqueline (Mark) Schlachter of Ferdinand and Lori (Patrick) Fromme of Ferdinand; one son, Kevin (Jackie) Lohman of Holland; one stepsister, Jerlene Peach of Evansville; one stepbrother, Joe Todrank of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brother-in-laws, Dale Hasler of Santa Claus and Glenn Katterhenry of Evansville; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren; and by one niece and one nephew.

Funeral services for William Fredrick “Bill” Lohman will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26th, 2015, at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg will burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg. Reverend Jack Neighbors will officiate the service. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW Post #2366 Memorial Detail.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass and Son Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 25th.
