William “Bill” W. Mangold, 97, of Evansville

William “Bill” W. Mangold, 97, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Heart to Heart Hospice.

Bill was born in Evansville, Indiana on January 12, 1928 to the late Edward and Sophia (Hoffher) Mangold.

He honorably served in the United States Army. Over the years, Bill worked for Chrysler Corp. for 10 years, Berman and Co. for 17 years, and retired from Bootz Plumbing after 10 years.

He enjoyed vegetable gardening, woodworking, and metal work. Bill loved traveling and visited all 50 states as well as Canada.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Carol A. Mangold of Evansville, and Doris L. Mangold of Evansville; son, William A. Mangold (LaVerne) of Huntingburg; grandchildren, Kristi Meyer and Kathy Brown; and great-grandchildren, Andrew Meyer, Jessica Meyer, Mary Beth Meyer, Sarah Brown, Noah Brown, and Abigail Brown,

Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lora Lee (Koonce) Mangold; his parents; daughter, Pamela J. Zoph; granddaughter, LeeAnn Kissel; sisters, Loretta Peerman (John) and Alberta Marshall; brothers, Alfred J. Mangold (Mildred), Edward O. Mangold (Mary), and George W. Mangold (Dorothy).

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at noon on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711, with Pastor Dan Ashton officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 10:00 am until service time on Friday at Browning Funeral Home.
