William “Bill” Traylor, 88, Petersburg

William “Bill” Traylor, 88, of Petersburg, passed away on October 30, 2025, at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg.

He was born June 17, 1937, to Stanton and Mildred (Harbin) Traylor in Petersburg.

Bill graduated from Petersburg High School in 1955. He served in the United States Navy Reserve. Bill worked at Hoosier Gas for 42 years before retiring. He loved riding his motorcycle and old classic cars.

Bill was a member of the Kiwanis of Petersburg, the American Legion, the NRA, the Petersburg Timeless Classics Car Club, and served on the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department for 50 years. He was also a faithful member of the Brenton Chapel Church of Christ, where he was baptized in 1977.

Bill is survived by his wife, Mary (Tegmeyer) Traylor; son, Jeff Traylor; daughter, Annette (Dennis) Eversoll; grandchildren, Jason (Gretchen) Barr, Leah (David) Barr-Weber, Nick (Brandy) Eversoll, and Alex (Jessica) Eversoll; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Dr. Dan (Dr. Fran) Traylor; and a sister, Jeanna (Jesse) Billings.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents.

Services for Bill will take place at 2 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg with visitation from 12 p.m. EDT until service time.

Pastor Tony Sims will be officiating, and the burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg.
