William A. “Bill” Hancock, 65, Ferdinand, died Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Scenic Hills Care Center, Ferdinand.

He was born February 19, 1951, in Huntingburg to Roger & Thelma (Hollinden) Hancock.

Bill retired from OFS Furniture. He was a Vietnam veteran and a member of St. Meinrad Legion Post 366. He enjoyed sports, NASCAR and cards.

Surviving are one son, Nathan “Tater” (Ashley) Hancock of Ferdinand; one daughter, Karrie Brown of Saint Meinrad; four grandchildren; four sisters, Donna (Ernest) Magnes of Chicago, Paula (Chris) Bolte and Charlotte Hancock of Ferdinand and Ruth (Jim) Ransom of Saint Croix.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Allan and John Hancock.

Funeral services 10 a.m. Thursday, January 19 at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Burial with military honors by St. Meinrad Legion Post 366 to follow in St. Ferdinand Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. until service time Thursday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand.
