William A. “Tony” Mahaney, 69, Bristow
William A. “Tony” Mahaney, 69, of Bristow, passed away at 2:31 a.m. on July 22, 2026, at Deaconess Memorial Medical Center in Jasper.

He was born on January 12, 1957, in Owensboro, Kentucky. He was united in marriage to Linda Prueher on April 22, 1978, in Troy, Indiana.
Tony was a devoted University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan and rarely missed cheering on his team. He also enjoyed listening to K-LOVE Radio, where he found encouragement and inspiration through Christian music. Above all, Tony cherished his family and found his greatest joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Francis Mahaney; one brother, Walter “Bud” Mahaney; one brother-in-law, Phil Simpson; and a great-granddaughter, Maeson Kellems.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Mahaney of Bristow; three children, Stacy (Stacy) Mahaney of Gentryville, Stephanie (Rob) Britton of Evansville and Sam Mahaney of Evansville; four siblings, Sue Simpson, James Mahaney, Dwayne Mahaney and Kevin (Charlene) Mahaney; one sister-in-law, Linda Mahaney; six grandchildren, Annie (Tim), Hannah, James (Hope) and Delilah Paris, Cailee and Grayson Britton; four great-grandchildren, Phoenix and Oliver Kellems, Enzo Efaw and Hudson Paris; and by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for William A. “Tony” Mahaney will be held at 11:00 a.m. CDT on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Rainey Funeral Home in Dale. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. CDT on Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
