Will Read and Sing show #108: The one to support children’s vision through Lions Club

Will Read and Sing For Food (WRASFF) will perform its 108th public show 7 p.m., Thursday, April 20 at Sultan’s Run in Jasper. The show will benefit Jasper Indiana Lions Club’s Sight for Children program.

“Many families in the area do not have the funds available for checkups and glasses. We are seeing many children that need assistance and the Lions Club is providing that service. We want everyone to see a better tomorrow. Please help the Lions Club achieve this goal,” says Lions Club member Patty Wollenmann.

The Lions Club show is a result of a WRASFF Choose A Charity contest in which Jasper lawyer David McGimpsey chose the club as the charity of choice for a WRASFF show. To date, WRASFF has raised over $100,000 for charities and causes thru the kindness of its audiences.

Musicians for the Lions Club show include Kyle Lueken, Debbie Schuetter, Bethany Boeglin, Justin Rottet, Ray Major, and 44 News’ Gretchin Irons.

Humor writer Scott Saalman and public radio WNIN 88.3’s Paola Marizan will co-host the show. Local optometrist and writer Dr. Gregory Gordon will be a guest reader at the show.

Boeglin will sign and sell her new CD and Gordon will sign and sell his new book, 57 Stories For Brushing Up Your Faith, after the show.

WRASFF earned the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana’s Mayor’s Arts Award in 2016. On Dec. 13, 2016, the City of Jasper proclaimed the day Will Read and Sing For Food Day in recognition of the troupe’s 100th show.

Doors open at 6 p.m. There will be an open bar, and food can be purchased.
