Wilfred Hentrup, 91

Wilfred Hentrup, 91, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 7:33 a.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2014, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.
He was born in Dubois, Indiana on July 1, 1923 to William and Florence (Hooten) Hentrup. He married Geraldine Strotman on October 20, 1949 in St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois, Indiana.
He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the European Theatre. He retired from the Jasper Corporation, a division of Kimball International.
He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper, in which he served as a member of the Honor Guard for many years.
He was an avid Indiana Pacer Fan.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Hentrup of Jasper; daughter, Beth Leistner and husband Bill, of Dubois; son, Dale Hentrup and wife Linda, of Dubois; two grandchildren, Kevin Leistner and Audrey Kluesner; two great-grandchildren; one brother, David Hentrup of Jasper; five sisters, Mary Hawley of Jasper, Alice Childers and husband Millard, of Science Hill, Ky., Doris Gehlhausen of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Kathy Knies and husband Jerry, of Jasper, and Patti Brosmer and husband Jim, of Jasper.
Preceding him in death are three brothers, Leroy, Donald, and Louis Hentrup; and two sisters, Cyrilla Spivey, and Marcella Roberts.
Funeral services for Wilfred Hentrup will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois with burial to follow in St. Raphael’s Cemetery in Dubois . The V.F.W. Post # 673 will conduct military grave side rites.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Wednesday at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois.
