Wilfred A. Weinzapfel, 73

Wilfred A. Weinzapfel, age 73, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Saturday (October 20, 2012) at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
He was born on September 27, 1939 in St. Philip, IN to Alfred and Magdalen (Wannemuehler) Weinzapfel. He married Betty J. Flamion on February 27, 1960 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Evansville, Indiana.
Wilfred worked at Ruxer Ford-Lincoln-Mercury in Jasper for 35 years, 20 of which he was part owner, until his retirement in 1995. He was a former Director of Jasper State Bank, former member of the board and treasurer of the Catholic Foundation of Southwestern Indiana, and past president of the Holy Family Catholic School Foundation.
He is a 1957 graduate of Mater Dei High School and a 1961 graduate of Evansville College (currently University of Evansville), where he attended on a football scholarship.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, and a recipient of the Brute Award for his service to Holy Family Parish.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, along with, hunting, fishing, gardening, and farming.

Funeral services for Wilfred A. Weinzapfel will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday (October 26, 2012) at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial at 3:00 C.S.T., 4:00 E.S.T. in St. Philip Cemetery in St. Philip, Indiana.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday(October 25, 2012) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
