Weekend Marching Band results

Here are the results from the area marching bands.

Jasper finished second in class 4A at the Paoli Invitational on Saturday night in Paoli. Jasper arrived after a performance at Lucas Oil Stadium at halftime of the Jasper vs. Vincennes Lincoln football game. Jasper also picked up best music, best percussion and best drum major in the event.

Other area bands that competed at Paoli included Northeast Dubois, finishing 7th in class A; Perry Central second in Class A; Salem with a first in Class A.

Springs Valley finished first in Class 3A and swept the ‘best’ categories by picking up best music, visual, general effect, auxiliary, percussion and drum major.

The grand champion at the Paoli Invitational was Floyd Central.

Meanwhile, Lanny Butler’s Southridge Marching Raiders finished second in Class A at the Evansville Harrison Invitational.

Pike Central picked up second in Class A at the Field of Dreams Invitational at North Posey.

The Forest Park Marching Rangers took the weekend off so that Chad Gayso’s squad could work on their program. They will return to competition this coming weekend.
