Weather forecast changes Trick-or-Treat plans
Several communities in Dubois County have expanded the scheduled trick-or-treat times due to the forecast of a dark and stormy Thursday evening.
Huntingburg, Jasper, and Ferdinand have all extended trick-or-treating an additional day to include Thursday and Friday.
Other events will still occur as scheduled.
The Huntingburg United Methodist Church will be holding the trick-or-trail event on Halloween night. The event has been moved to the city park this year and if the weather is bad, it will be moved into League Stadium. The hours are 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served and will include popcorn, nachos with cheese, cookies, hot chocolate and cool aid.
The Huntingburg Volunteer Fire Department and its auxiliary is hosting a trick-or-treat event at the First Street fire station on Thursday. Children can take photos with the fire fighters.
Holland will be holding their annual community party at the Holland Elementary School at 6 p.m.
Officials are cautioning parents to use their own discretion before venturing out for trick-or-treating.
If you are participating in trick-or-treating please have your porch light turned on to allow parents to know to visit your home.
