Water work on Terrace Avenue will require boil water advisory

Jasper–The Jasper Municipal Water Department will turn off the water supply on Tuesday, March 18th, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for water customers on Terrace Avenue only. Once the water is turned back on, a Boil Water Advisory will be in effect.

 The Boil Water Advisory is being issued to prevent residents from getting sick from potentially harmful germs or chemicals in the water.  

Residents affected are asked to boil their water for 5 minutes before consuming it for humans and pets. The water is safe for bathing.  

The Boil Water Advisory will last at least 48 hours or until 2 consecutive water samples pass testing. Once it is lifted, another notification will be sent.
