Warm weather means more mowing and property upkeep
Huntingburg – The City of Huntingburg issued a few property maintenance reminders to residents as the warm weather brings on more mowing and property upkeep.
- Please keep the grass mowed regularly as the maximum grass height allowed is nine inches;
- If grass is blown into the street, inlets, or sidewalks while mowing, grass clippings must be cleaned up when finished;
- If you have a storm inlet in the curb in front of your house, please keep it clean and clear of any debris, which will help with flooding;
- If you have an open end of a pipe or any type of storm water feature in your yard, please keep it clear of debris;
- Dead trees should be removed promptly from property;
- All trees and shrubs should be trimmed to not obstruct the public right-of-way;
- Vehicles on property must be operable and have a current license;
- Auto related parts may not be visible from a public street or alley; and
- Covering parts or inoperable vehicles with a tarp is not allowed.
The limb yard, located at 1103 E. First Street, is currently open every day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Acceptable yard waste includes: limbs, bush trimmings, grass clippings, etc. Please do not leave empty trash bags behind.
