Ward named interim director of Dubois County Humane Society

Jasper — The Dubois County Humane Society announced Cara Ward has been hired as the interim executive director for the recently reorganized non-profit.
“With the recent re-organization efforts led by the governing board, this is an exciting time for expanded volunteer efforts and public involvement in the mission of the Humane Society,” said Ward.
In collaboration with the Board of Directors, Ward will drive a growing volunteer program, identify opportunities for organizational development, and expand service and adoption opportunities for the public.
“The goal of this interim director is to identify the immediate needs of the organization from a staff and volunteer perspective,” Board President Mary Saalman said. “With six years of corporate experience, Cara has proven skills in marketing, event planning, and public speaking.
Ward brings experience in marketing and human resources benefits management to the Dubois County Humane Society. Prior to working for the Dubois County Humane Society, Ward served as marketing manager, and later benefits manager, for BR Associates, Inc. She began working in the BR Associates Marketing Department in 2006.
Ward earned her BA in Public Relations and Advertising from Butler University in 2006. She lives in Jasper with her husband, Brad, daughter, Finley, and their six-year-old rescue dog, Quincy.
The Dubois County Humane Society, a non-profit 501(c)3, was founded in 1974 to care for homeless animals in our community. The Dubois County Humane Society receives no public funding, relying solely on the support of the community through contributions.
