Wanda Tawczynski, 88

Wanda Tawczynski (pronounced Toffzinski), age 88, passed away at 10:41 p.m. Saturday (January 5, 2013) in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born in Legniea, Poland April 10, 1924 to Juan and Maria (Harodeska) Guba. She married Kazimierz Tawczynski August 3, 1963. He preceded her in death July 31, 1987.

Wanda was a resident at the Providence Health Care Center in Jasper since 2006. Also was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

She arrived in the United States April 10, 1963 and became a US citizen on June 5, 1969. She speaks Russian, Ukrainian, German, Polish and her recently learned tongue of English.

Funeral services for Wanda Tawczynski will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, (January 11, 2013) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday (January 10, 2013) at the Providence Home Health Care Center in Jasper and one hour before services at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper on Friday January 11, 2013.
