Wanda J. Hilsmeyer, 77, Huntingburg

Wanda J. Hilsmeyer, 77, Huntingburg, passed away at 8:14 p.m., on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.

She was born January 19, 1939, in Washington, Indiana; and was united in marriage to Larry G. Hilsmeyer on November 18, 1961, at the Assembly of God Church in Alfordsville, Indiana.

Wanda was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Huntingburg. She enjoyed gardening.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Muriel Eisenhut.

She is survived by her husband, Larry G. Hilsmeyer of Huntingburg; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael (Sheila) Hilsmeyer of Huntingburg and Terry (Karen) Hilsmeyer of St. Henry; one daughter and son-in-law, Janna (Brad) Peter of Huntingburg; one brother, Kevin I. Minor of Richmond, Ky.; nine grandchildren, Kristen Laymon of Jasper, Ryan Hilsmeyer of Huntingburg, Taryn Hilsmeyer of Bargersville, Joshua Hilsmeyer of Huntingburg, Jeffry Hilsmeyer of Ferdinand, Jessica Hilsmeyer of Huntingburg, Morgan Peter of Huntingburg, Mallory Peter of Huntingburg and Makenna Peter of Huntingburg; nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Wanda J. Hilsmeyer will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at the Church of the Nazarene Family Life Center located at 304 N. Jackson Street in Huntingburg.  Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg.  Reverend William Covey and Reverend Leroy Powell will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and also at the church one hour prior to the funeral on Sunday. Memorial contributions can be made to the Church of the Nazarene in Huntingburg.
